Who We Are

Ken Berry – Guitar

A Michigan native, guitarist Ken Berry came to Los Angeles in the 80s via the University of Miami school of music. As a freelancer gigging around LA he was fortunate to work with artists such as Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross, Don Randi, Uncle Festive, Jeff Goldblum, and many local acts, eventually becoming Barry Manilow’s guitarist for 5 years, then doing production and arranging work for six of his albums. A television and film composer since the late 90s, he has continued his passion for the guitar with a focus on classic jazz.

Eric Garcia – Bass

Influenced by the songs he heard his mother play as a child, Eric grew up to become a talented guitarist. He began his training by studying classical guitar at age 16 with Luis Elloriaga in Hollywood. He continued his musical studies at University of California, Santa Cruz. In the ’80s, he was a member of the pop band the Nobodys, who were signed to Capitol Records and released their only LP, No Guarantees, in 1984.

After the Nobodys broke up, Eric played for Motown and with Bob Dylan (turning Dylan on to his first drum machine). Eric gravitated toward recording studios, working with MIDI and sampling and sharpening his engineering skills under renowned producer Dave Jerden (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, Alice in Chains). He became a master engineer and in 1999 founded one of the first all-digital recording studios, 48 Windows Music & Mix in Santa Monica, California.

Ziv Fisher – Drums

Los Angeles based drummer and co-owner of 48 Windows, one of Santa Monica’s premier commercial post-production studios. A native of Tel Aviv, he arrived in Hollywood at the age of 24 to study percussion at the Musicians Institute with inspirational heavyweights like Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro and Casey Scheuerell. “I was drawn to music ever since I can remember,” Ziv says. “It’s natural for me, a way of communicating. Suddenly, I found a whole community of people who really got that.”

After sitting in on several 48 Windows gigs as a session drummer, Ziv officially joined the company in 1994 and by 1998 he was overseeing the facility. Ziv continues to play drums on all the music for commercials and albums that 48 Windows produces, including jingles, TV cues, library music, backing tracks, and more.

At the same time, Ziv has played and recorded with the likes of Mickey Champion and Eric Garcia, Scott Gilman, Adam Lieb and Gary Swan. He also leads the Ziv Fisher Quartet in various club dates around Southern California.

Scott Gillman – Sax

Scott Gilman first picked up the saxophone at age 10, inspired by his Dad’s late night jam sessions with other local jazz musicians. The rock scene in Massachusetts also influenced him and it wasn’t long before he picked up a guitar as well. His formative years were equally split between studying and playing the jazz of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, et al and forming his own rock bands to perform locally.

He started playing professionally at age 15. After winning numerous awards in school as a saxophonist he won a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music. There he studied under jazz greats Herb Pomeroy, John LaPorta, Joe Viola, and Andy McGhee. He also studied privately with tenor saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. He continued to gig to support himself through college including a brief stint on the road with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
